When God is Your CEO - Surrendering Control in Business

business surrender Apr 24, 2024

The first time I heard the idea of God being someone's CEO I laughed a little bit.

In hindsight, I realize that I probably grieved the Holy Spirit a bit, and for that I've repented.

Truthfully I just couldn't wrap my head around the logistics of how a deity as magestic as God could be my CEO.

What would meetings look like?

How would decisions be made?

How exactly would I hear any of this for myself?

None of it made sense to me then.

Over time however, God taught me what it meant to have Him as the CEO of my entrepreneurial endeavors. After all, He is the Alpha and Omega, the Begining and the End. He knows and has counted every hair on my head.

So how was it that I could believe all of that but be so flabbergasted about Him being my CEO?

Simple--I wanted to be in control.

Yep, me... someone who doesn't even have control over whether or not I will wake up tomorrow morning, I wanted to be in control of 'my' businesses.

God had to teach me that the control I wanted came from a lack of trust. I didn't trust Him for whatever reason.

Even though His word is clear:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. - Proverbs 3:5-6 NASB1995

Doing so took a heart that truly loved God.

I had to allow Him to reposture my heart.

And as I grew in my faith and my relationship with Him, I learned to let go.

It wasn't easy.

It was, and is, a daily surrender, a conscious choice to say, "Not my will, but Yours be done."

And the very heart that He repostured, was the very place our business meetings are held.

Yep, no joke business meetings with God aren't in conference rooms; they're in the quiet corners of our hearts.

They're in those moments of absolute surrender, where His peace surpasses our understanding, where clarity comes not from charts and graphs, but from Scripture and prayer.

And here's the real kicker, the true perk of this arrangement—God doesn't just want our businesses to succeed; He wants us to thrive, to prosper in spirit as well as in our endeavors.

Because when He is our CEO, our business aligns with the very heartbeat of His eternal purpose.

So, what's the vision for your business?

Do you trust Him enough to let Him lead?

Are you ready for the best business partner you could ever have?

Let's chat about that.

Let's discover together what it truly means to let God be the CEO.

Because, believe me, when God is in the boardroom, it's not just business—it's divine.
